Baseball Recap: Blue Ridge Has No Trouble Against S & S Consolidated

The Blue Ridge Tigers made easy work of the S & S Consolidated Rams on Tuesday and carried off a 12-2 victory. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly ten runs.

Cam Baker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Baker was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Micah Dickerson was incredible, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Collin Edwards, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Blue Ridge and bumps their season record up to 4-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for S & S Consolidated, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Blue Ridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against S & S Consolidated: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
