Recap: Akron Tigers vs. Newfane Panthers
If the Akron Tigers were riding high off their 50-28 takedown of the Cleveland Hill Golden Eagles last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Akron was outmatched by Newfane on the road and fell 73-43. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Akron has scored all season.
Newfane's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayden Seitz led the charge by scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Seitz hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Capen Mac, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Akron's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Newfane, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Albion the next time they take the court. Akron will host Albion at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Newfane will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
