Baseball Recap: Shorewood Takes a Loss

Shorewood fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Nathan Hale on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Stormrays have suffered since March 21st.

Jameson Connolly was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Joey Facilla, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Shorewood's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Nathan Hale, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-9-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shorewood will face off against Monroe at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Nathan Hale, they will take on Rainier Beach at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
