Winchester Thurston skates past Geibel Catholic with ease

In what's become a running theme this season, Winchester Thurston gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past Geibel Catholic, posting a 68-36 win at home. The win was familiar territory for Winchester Thurston who now have three in a row.

Tommy Kolencik and Gary Tarbuk certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Kolencik scored 14 points along with three blocks and two steals, while Tarbuk scored ten points along with six rebounds. Kolencik has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played.

Geibel Catholic struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Winchester Thurston pushed their record up to 7-5 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Geibel Catholic, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winchester Thurston will stay at home for another game and welcome Bishop Canevin at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Bishop Canevin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Geibel Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Jefferson-Morgan at 7:30 p.m.
