Preview: Bucyrus Redmen vs. Ridgedale Rockets
After three games on the road, Bucyrus is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Ridgedale Rockets at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Bucyrus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
Last Friday, Bucyrus ended up a good deal behind Colonel Crawford and lost 49-31. While losing is never fun, Bucyrus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 620th, while Colonel Crawford is ranked 60th).
Bucyrus' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brook Dennison, who scored seven points along with four steals, and Marissa Middleton who scored nine points along with four steals. Middleton is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Ridgedale beat Ridgemont 41-29 on Thursday. The victory was just what Ridgedale needed coming off of a 44-24 defeat in their prior match.
Bucyrus bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Ridgedale, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Everything came up roses for Bucyrus against Ridgedale in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 52-25 victory. Will Bucyrus repeat their success, or does Ridgedale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
