Softball Recap: Southeast Alamance Stallions vs. East Carteret Mariners
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Southeast Alamance had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the East Carteret Mariners, sneaking past 5-3.

Tatum Shelton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Shelton wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Addison Reich, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Southeast Alamance hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matches.
