Football Recap: M.L. King Takes a Loss

M.L. King fell victim to Creekside and their airtight defense on Thursday. They were dealt a 69-0 loss at the hands of the Seminoles. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Seminoles are ranked tenth).

Creekside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cayden Benson, who threw for 173 yards and four TDs while completing 73.9% of his passes. The Seminoles' leading receiver Damien Henderson was Benson's top target yet again, picking up 96 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, M.L. King fell to 5-1. As for Creekside, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Coming up, M.L. King will face off against Midtown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Creekside, they will take on Pace Academy at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. The Seminoles are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
