Basketball Game Preview: San Marcos Rattlers vs. East Central Hornets

San Marcos and East Central are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The San Marcos Rattlers will host the East Central Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

San Marcos came up short against Clemens on Friday, falling 68-42. The loss continues a trend for the Rattlers in their matchups with the Buffaloes: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for East Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They managed an 82-76 victory over Steele on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Hornets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Knights are ranked 14th).

East Central's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-11. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.3 points per game. As for San Marcos, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-15.
