Ridgeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cornerstone Christian Cyclones. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly five runs.

Max Mason was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.1 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Mason wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Kennedy, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base.

Ridgeview's loss dropped their record down to 7-13-1. As for Cornerstone Christian, their record now sits at 4-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeview will challenge Roanoke-Benson/Lowpoint-Washburn at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will take on Delavan at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
