Softball Game Preview: Everett Alvarez Eagles vs. North Salinas Vikings

The Everett Alvarez Eagles will challenge the North Salinas Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Everett Alvarez is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They fell 3-0 to Salinas. Considering the last time the Eagles couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

Dani Amendola spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Everett Alvarez saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexia Meza, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, North Salinas didn't have quite enough to beat Hollister on Friday and fell 4-2. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Haybalers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

North Salinas' defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Everett Alvarez, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
