Grace Christian extended their winning streak to five on Thursday, bumping them up to 5-0. They put the hurt on the Cary Christian Knights with a sharp 3-0 win. The Crusaders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Grace Christian found their leader in sophomore Gracie Canaday, who had 11 digs and three aces.

Grace Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 13 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cary Christian fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

Despite the defeat, Cary Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Giovanna Kerlus had nine digs.

Grace Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against John Paul II Catholic on the 25th. As for Cary Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Thales Academy Rolesville on the 22nd.
