Cupertino and Lynbrook are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but not for long. The Pioneers will head out to challenge the Vikings at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Cupertino and five for Lynbrook.

Cupertino managed to slip by Homestead the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pioneers lost 3-0 to the Mustangs on Monday.

Cupertino was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Homestead work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-22, 29-27, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Lynbrook didn't have quite enough to beat Monta Vista on Monday and fell 3-2.

Lynbrook took Monta Vista into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-17, 26-24, 26-28, 15-10.

Cupertino's defeat dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Lynbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 12-17.

Cupertino skirted past Lynbrook 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
