Baseball Recap: Veritas Prep Falcons vs. Bisbee Pumas

It was a good run, but Veritas Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 6-2 to the Bisbee Pumas.

Cade Huseth was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Huseth has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive pitching appearances. Huseth was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Huseth wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kishan Bhatnagar, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Bhatnagar is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last three games he's played.

On Bisbee's side, Horacio Olivarria was excellent, going 2-for-4 with a triple, a run, and an RBI.

Veritas Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Bisbee, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Veritas Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bisbee, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Horizon Honors at 11:00 a.m. Bisbee will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
