Baseball Recap: Tyngsborough Takes a Loss

Tyngsborough was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Quabbin Regional Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.

Colby Wall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tyngsborough saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Dunbar, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Dunbar's first of the season.

Tyngsborough's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Quabbin Regional, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tyngsborough will challenge Groton-Dunstable at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Quabbin Regional, they will face off against Narragansett Regional at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
