Given Cross Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Harlem is ranked 461st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cross Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Micheala Bogans led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Bogans hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. JaNya Wiley was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.

Academy of Richmond County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was NaCja Johnson out in front who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciyanna Grant, who scored nine points.

Cross Creek pushed their record up to 16-4 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for Academy of Richmond County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Friday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: Cross Creek have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.8 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Academy of Richmond County, though, as they've been averaging only 1.6 rebounds per game. Given Cross Creek's sizeable advantage in that area, Academy of Richmond County will need to find a way to close that gap.
