Basketball Game Preview: Springer Red Devils vs. Des Moines Demons

The Springer Red Devils will square off against the Des Moines Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Springer is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Des Moines just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a hard 69-53 fall against the Demons.

Des Moines' win came from a few key players Springer will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Rylan Brown, who posted 17 points along with six assists and six rebounds. She also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Des Moines is 18-4 when she posts at least three steals, but 1-3 otherwise. Jadyn Atwater was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards.

Des Moines smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Des Moines' defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points over those games. As for Springer, their loss dropped their record down to 19-9.
