Basketball Game Preview: North Miami Beach Chargers vs. Downtown Doral Dolphins

The North Miami Beach Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Downtown Doral Dolphins at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, North Miami Beach turned things around against Edison on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Red Raiders by a score of 55-46.

Meanwhile, Downtown Doral had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They blew past the Knights 82-41. The Dolphins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 25 points or more this season.

North Miami Beach better keep an eye on Giancarlo Romero. He was instrumental in Downtown Doral's win, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 11 boards. Romero has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Samuel Salas, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Downtown Doral was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Downtown Doral is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for North Miami Beach, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
