Volleyball Game Preview: Wheaton North Falcons vs. Fenwick Friars

The Wheaton North Falcons will challenge the Fenwick Friars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Wheaton North will be strutting in after a win while Fenwick will be coming in after a defeat.

Wheaton North is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since April 17th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Geneva. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Wheaton North who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-16, 18-25, 25-23.

Wheaton North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Thant Zin, who had 15 digs. That's the most digs Zin has posted over his last ten games. Another player making a difference was Owen Hubner, who had 16 assists.

Meanwhile, Fenwick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Montini Catholic.

While Fenwick was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22.

Fenwick's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Wheaton North, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10.
