            Baseball Recap: Chiles Timberwolves vs. McMinn County Cherokees        
        
		
        
        
            On Tuesday, the Chiles Timberwolves were able to grind out a solid  victory over the McMinn County Cherokees, taking the game  5-1. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Timberwolves.

 Colton Corder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  strikeouts.
 On the hitting side,  Tyler Correa was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing  Two bases. while going 1-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Chiles' success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of  Brendan Gereg, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases and one  RBI.
Chiles' win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 7-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for McMinn County, they moved to 5-2 with that  loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
 Coming up, Chiles will face off against Niceville at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for McMinn County, they will challenge Fleming Island at 2:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Fleming Island has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.77  runs per game on average), something McMinn County will no doubt try to take advantage of.
