Softball Recap: Erie-Prophetstown Drops Highest Score of Season Against Bureau Valley

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sterling, Erie-Prophetstown was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Bureau Valley Storm by a score of 5-2. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Wynn Renkes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kayler Pritchard, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Alyssah Padia was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Erie-Prophetstown's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Bureau Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Erie-Prophetstown will face off against Annawan-Wethersfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bureau Valley, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Erie at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
