The Woodside Wildcats will challenge the Capuchino Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Woodside sitting on three straight victories and Capuchino on four.
It was a proper cat-fight when Woodside challenged Burlingame on Thursday. The Wildcats walked away with a 9-5 win over the Panthers.

Hannah Walker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elizabeth Severin, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Mo Overbey was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
Woodside hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burlingame struck out seven times.
Capuchino came out on top against Carlmont on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Mustangs blew past the Scots 11-1. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Mustangs this season.
Lola Sierra made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sierra was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Star Gutierrez was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Avery Motroni, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Capuchino pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Woodside, their record is now 11-5.
Woodside might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Capuchino in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
