Baseball Recap: Ransom Everglades Comes Up Short

If Ransom Everglades was feeling good fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders fell 8-5 to the Marathon Dolphins on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Dolphins: they've now lost four in a row.

Teddy Wagner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Juan Velazco, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Ransom Everglades' defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Marathon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Ransom Everglades and Marathon are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Raiders will square off against Riviera Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Ransom Everglades is facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Marathon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Glades Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gators will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Dolphins surely won't give up without a fight.
