Baseball Recap: The Colony Cougars vs. Lake Dallas Falcons
The Colony lost against Lake Dallas back in March of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Colony Cougars fell just short of the Lake Dallas Falcons by a score of 6-4. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The Colony got a good showing from Brody Ensweiler, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Sean Keenen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Josiah Rojas also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.
The Colony's loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Looking ahead, The Colony will be taking part in a tournament against Naaman Forest at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. The Colony is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Lake Dallas, they will take on Burleson at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The last four games Lake Dallas has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
