Basketball Game Preview: Red Mountain Mountain Lions vs. Dobson Mustangs

The Red Mountain Mountain Lions will head out to square off against the Dobson Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Mountain will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Red Mountain earned a 44-32 win over Skyline. The 44-point effort marked the Mountain Lions' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 61 points the game before, Dobson was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were dealt a 75-25 defeat at the hands of Mesa. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Jackrabbits are ranked 19th).

Red Mountain pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Dobson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Red Mountain against Dobson in their previous meeting last Friday, as the squad secured a 75-39 win. In that contest, Red Mountain amassed a halftime lead of 38-17, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
