Football Recap: Westwood Wins Going Away Against Pascack Valley

It was a proper cat-fight when Westwood took on Pascack Valley on Friday. The Cardinals enjoyed a cozy 21-7 win over the Panthers. For the Cardinals, this counts as revenge for the 21-7 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Pascack Valley still got an impressive performance from Adam Shaw, who rushed for 84 yards and one score. An impressive showing, but Shaw really ramped things up playing D: he picked up two sacks and made 19 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Westwood has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 21 points this season. As for Pascack Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Westwood and Pascack Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Cardinals will square off against Pascack Hills on Friday with a big rank advantage (35 vs. 218). Meanwhile, Pascack Valley (ranked 41st) will meet Teaneck (ranked 199th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
