Football Recap: Wayne Comes Up Short

Wayne extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 23-22 heartbreaker at the hands of the Schuyler Warriors. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Schuyler's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

The critical scores for Schuyler came from Nolan Andel, Daniel Guerrero, and Iker Lara.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne will take on Scotus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will be up against the Shamrocks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.25 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Schuyler, they will square off against Pierce at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
