Recap: Ballou Knights vs. Coolidge Colts
On Monday, the Ballou Knights faced the Coolidge Colts in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Ballou had to suffer through a rough 52-6 loss at the hands of Coolidge. The loss means Ballou is still on the hunt for the season's first 'W'.
Coolidge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylyn Derricott, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Derricott hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariyah Wilson, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Ballou dropped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Coolidge, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.
Ballou will head out on the road to face off against DC International at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully DC International focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Monday. As for Coolidge, they will be playing at home against Bard at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
