Baseball Recap: Triton Finds Home Field Redemption Against Fort Wayne Crusaders

There's no place like home for Triton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Fort Wayne Crusaders 6-5.

Maddox Dennie was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Max Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Triton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Fort Wayne Crusaders, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triton will take on Fort Wayne North Side at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Wayne Crusaders, they will venture away from home to face off against Indianapolis Kings at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Indianapolis Kings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Fort Wayne Crusaders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
