Softball Recap: Bedford North Lawrence Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

There's no place like home for Bedford North Lawrence, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Southridge Raiders on Saturday as they made off with an 11-3 win. The Stars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

Karsyn Coleman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Bella Warren was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Tori Nikirk, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Bedford North Lawrence's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-11. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Southridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Bedford North Lawrence and Southridge are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Stars will take on Floyd Central at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The Highlanders will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Bedford North Lawrence surely won't give up without a fight. As for Southridge, they will square off against Gibson Southern at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders will need to watch out since the Titans have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
