Bear Creek had won three straight home games dating back to last season and Aiden Nguyen did his part to make it four on Thursday. The Bear Creek Bears came out on top in a nail-biter against the Denver East Angels, sneaking past 3-2 which was due in part to Nguyen, who had 23 digs and two aces. Nguyen is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least ten every time he's taken the court this season.

Bear Creek had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 21-25, 25-13, 25-13, 15-10.

Bear Creek now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Denver East, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Bear Creek will take on Lutheran at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Lutheran will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Bear Creek surely won't give up without a fight. As for Denver East, they will square off against Highlands Ranch at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Denver East is facing Highlands Ranch at the right time seeing as Highlands Ranch is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
