Football Recap: Douglas Eagles vs. Brewer Patriots
Douglas won the last time they faced Brewer and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles blew past the Patriots 49-22. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-14.
Douglas found their leader in sophomore Keilan Green, who rushed for 77 yards and one score.
Douglas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Layton Culbert and Judson Murray. Culbert got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cole Drinkard, who rushed for 61 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 234 yards on 16 of 26 attempts. Brewer's leading receiver Hunter Knighten was Drinkard's top target yet again, picking up 127 receiving yards.
