Basketball Game Preview: Oak Forest Academy Yellowjackets vs. Washburn Pirates

Having just played yesterday, the Oak Forest Academy Yellowjackets will jump right back in to play the Washburn Pirates at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Oak Forest Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Clarksville Academy by a score of 54-44 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Washburn entered their tilt with Gulf Breeze on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 60-26 stomp they got against the Dolphins. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.

Washburn's win came from a few key players Oak Forest Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Saylor Clay, who posted 20 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Hannah Williams, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 15 points and three steals.

Washburn has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Oak Forest Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
