League recap: Flanagan/Woodland stuns Ridgeview in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Ridgeview, who took down 205th ranked Ridgeview, 22-14. Alec Dutko threw for 106 yards and one touchdown and ran for five yards in the win.

Flanagan/Woodland moved up to 239 from 299 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Heart of Illinois. The Falcons climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Mustangs 22-14.

Lexington's Donavan Laible and Jordan Algar have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Laible has thrown for 1865 yards this season, while Algar, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 42 catches for 773 yards. Kody Appel from Flanagan/Woodland leads the league in rushing with 815 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Ryan Pearson's team takes on LeRoy. As it stands, the Falcons are in fourth, while the Panthers are in first.

LeRoy extended the longest winning streak in Heart of Illinois this week by beating Brown County, 61-24. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.
