Basketball Recap: Adams Central Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Adams Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 36-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aurora Huskies. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Huskies 9-4 in the first quarter.

Aurora's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaitlyn Staehr led the charge by putting up ten points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kenna Merrihew, who posted seven points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Adams Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 42-32 defeat against York on the 6th. Aurora has also already played their next game, a 40-25 loss against Wahoo on the 7th.
