Basketball Recap: Foard Takes a Loss

Foard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 88-66 to the North Lincoln Knights. The Tigers were probably out for revenge after losing 70-68 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Foard lost, don't look at Noah Hedrick. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 16 on his way to 25 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Hedrick is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Holden Caldwell, who posted 13 points.

It was another big night for Ty Sanders, who went 10 for 16 en route to 32 points and five boards for North Lincoln. Those 32 points gave Sanders a new career-high. Kellen Karr was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Foard's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for North Lincoln, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Foard will venture away from home to square off against Hickory at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hickory knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Foard likes a good challenge. As for North Lincoln, they will welcome West Iredell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Lincoln is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 78.8 points per game this season.
