Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Graham Local

Graham Local hadn't done well against Bellefontaine recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Falcons took down the Chieftains 63-45. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Chieftains are ranked 666th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Bellefontaine saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lexey Brown went 7-for-13 to rack up 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Brown, who posted 14 points and six rebounds.

The victory was the third in a row for Graham Local, bringing their record up to 13-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Bellefontaine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season.

Graham Local wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-43 defeat against North Union on the 4th. As for Bellefontaine, they will square off against Jonathan Alder at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
