Holmes has gone 8-0-2 against Northeastern recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Aces will look to defend their home pitch against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Holmes is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to nine goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Manteo on Monday. They came up short against the Redskins, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Holmes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Manteo are ranked 121st).

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Northeastern was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to First Flight.

Holmes' defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Northeastern, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7-1.

Everything went Holmes' way against Northeastern in their previous matchup back in March, as Holmes made off with a 5-2 victory. Do the Aces have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
