Preview: Lewisville Lions vs. Great Falls Red Devils
Lewisville is 1-9 against Great Falls since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lewisville Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Great Falls Red Devils at 8:00 p.m. Lewisville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Great Falls likes a good challenge.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Lewisville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past McBee 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Lewisville has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, Great Falls scored the most points they've had all season to find success two weeks ago. They blew past Buford 74-31 on the road. Given Great Falls' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Buford is ranked 286th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lewisville pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Great Falls, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Lewisville took a serious blow against Great Falls when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 69-39. Can Lewisville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
