Softball Game Preview: Chatham Central Bears vs. Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves

The Chatham Central Bears will challenge the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chatham Central will be strutting in after a win while Cedar Ridge will be coming in after a defeat.

Cedar Ridge will be up against a hot Chatham Central squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Chatham Central never let Bartlett Yancey get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Tuesday.

Maddie Kaczmarczyk made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Kaczmarczyk was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases.

In other batting news, Nicole Maness was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Madeline Galindo-Woodring and Kimber Shambley did some serious damage despite the final result: Galindo-Woodring went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Shambley got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple.

Cedar Ridge now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Chatham Central, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
