Softball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

If Newton was feeling good fresh off their 15-6 takedown of Heritage on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Archer Tigers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 back in August.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Archer, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Looking ahead, Newton will be playing at home against Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Archer, they will head out to take on Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
