Football Recap: West Noble Chargers vs. Garrett Railroaders

West Noble and Garrett squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but West Noble had to settle for second. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to the Garrett Railroaders. The Chargers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

West Noble lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaylun Shaffer, who picked up 105 receiving yards and a touchdown. Shaffer showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 54 yards.

Garrett's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Calder Hefty, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 44 yards and a touchdown. An impressive showing, but Hefty really ramped things up playing D: he forced a fumble and made seven total tackles in addition to snagging an interception. Camren Ruble handled things on the ground, rushing for 87 yards and a rushing touchdown.

West Noble's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Garrett, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
