Mt. Ararat is 8-2 against Westbrook since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mt. Ararat Eagles will welcome the Westbrook Blue Blazes at 6:00 p.m. Mt. Ararat will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Mt. Ararat strolled past Brunswick with points to spare, taking the game 56-37. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Dragons are ranked 42nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Westbrook ended up a good deal behind Oxford Hills on Friday and lost 69-55.

Mt. Ararat will need to focus on slowing down Kylie Young, one of several Westbrook players who made an impact when they last played. She posted ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Young has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lyla Dunphe, who scored 16 points.

Mt. Ararat pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points over those games. As for Westbrook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Mt. Ararat was able to grind out a solid win over Westbrook in their previous matchup back in January, winning 67-54. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Young, who went 8-for-13 on her way to 21 points and eight boards. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Mt. Ararat still be able to contain Young? There's only one way to find out.
