Ossining takes loss despite strong efforts from Kris Singh and Asher Cort

Recap: Ossining Pride vs. Pearl River Pirates

After flying high against the Port Chester Rams on Friday, the Ossining Pride came back down to earth. Ossining was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 59-58 to Pearl River. While losing is never fun, Ossining can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while Pearl River is ranked 33rd).

Asher Cort and Kris Singh certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Cort scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Singh scored 24 points. Franklin Santos was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Ossining's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Pearl River, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1.

Ossining will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against White Plains at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. White Plains is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games. As for Pearl River, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against North Rockland at 6:15 p.m.
