Baseball Recap: Cumberland Gap Comes Up Short

Cumberland Gap was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 19-3 to the Pigeon Forge Tigers. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 9-3 to the Tigers when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cumberland Gap saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kole Carter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Another was Eli Reed, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Cumberland Gap's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Pigeon Forge, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

While Cumberland Gap had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
