Baseball Recap: LaBelle Takes a Loss

If LaBelle was riding high fresh off their 11-5 takedown of Avon Park last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cowboys/Cowgirls fell just short of the Evangelical Christian Sentinels by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Cowboys/Cowgirls were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sentinels earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

LaBelle saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Murray, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Jackson Perkins also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The defeat snapped LaBelle's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-9 record. As for Evangelical Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-11.

Looking ahead, LaBelle will host Okeechobee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Evangelical Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against IMG Academy Silver at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
