Basketball Game Preview: Holy Spirit Spartans vs. Atlantic Christian Cougars

The Holy Spirit Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Atlantic Christian Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Holy Spirit is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Wildwood Catholic just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to the Crusaders 68-62.

Meanwhile, Atlantic Christian fought the good fight in their overtime match against The Pilgrim Academy on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 29-28 to the Pioneers. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pioneers 7-2 in the first quarter.

Holy Spirit will have to contain Gianna Flynn as she made an impact in Atlantic Christian's last game. She dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. The game was Flynn's third in a row with at least ten points. Taylor Sutton was another key player, putting up two points and eight rebounds.

Holy Spirit's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4. As for Atlantic Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-1.
