Baseball Recap: Simpson Academy Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Simpson Academy suffered their closest loss since May 6, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the East Rankin Academy Patriots by a score of 7-5. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-1 loss on Thursday.

Barrett McKenney was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brady McKenney, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Simpson Academy's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-8. As for East Rankin Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Coming up, Simpson Academy will challenge Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. East Rankin Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
