Softball Recap: California Military Institute Comes Up Short

California Military Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nuview Bridge Knights. The Rough Riders were not able to make up for their loss to the Knights from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Evette Quiroz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Bella Delgado also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Even though they lost, California Military Institute always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .525 or higher in three consecutive games.

California Military Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Nuview Bridge, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. California Military Institute will square off against rival Temecula Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Nuview Bridge is set to challenge their familiar foe San Jacinto Valley Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
