Softball Recap: MAST Charter II Takes a Loss

MAST Charter II extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 1-7 in the process. They lost 20-5 to String Theory. That's two games in a row now that the Voyagers have lost by exactly 15 runs.

As for String Theory, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-6. Considering they have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For String Theory's part, Danica Divincenzo was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Divincenzo has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Genesis Mejia-Rodriquez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. MAST Charter II will take on rival Science Leadership Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, String Theory is set to square off against their familiar foe Philadelphia Academy Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
