Football Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

The matchup between Independence and West Delaware on Friday hardly resembled the 13-7 effort from their previous meeting. The Mustangs received a blow as they fell 42-27 to the Hawks. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Independence and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for West Delaware, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Independence is set to face off against their familiar foe Benton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, West Delaware will challenge rival Charles City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
